About Whiti Mai Rānui

Whiti Mai Rānui has grown out of the mahi of the Rānui Accord — a community-led collective of local groups working together in Rānui.

The collective is made up of eight place-based groups:

  • Rānui Action Project

  • Rānui Community Garden

  • Rānui Baptist Community Care

  • Rānui Community Centre

  • Rānui 135

  • Rānui Library

  • Rānui Primary School

  • Te Waipuna Puawai

Established in 2012, the original purpose of the Rānui Accord was to coordinate funding of social services to achieve health, wellbeing, and social outcomes in Rānui.

Led by voices in the community, Rānui and people are at the centre of our work together. We collaborate, share knowledge and resources to prepare for the future in Rānui.

Through our mahi together, it became clear there was a need for a shared space that could:

  • connect people to what’s happening locally

  • support community-led events and activities

  • share stories and learning from Rānui

  • help grow visibility, pride, and engagement across our community

Whiti Mai Rānui is one way the Rānui Accord supports this — a community-facing movement that belongs to Rānui and is shaped by the people who live here.
